Course Description:
This one-day course will involve lecture along with hands-on laboratory components to explore the current best practices for evaluation and treatment of lumbopelvic and hip disorders based on the latest evidence. The course will focus on applied anatomy and surgical vs non-surgical techniques for lumbopelvic and hip pathologies. Several different types of lumbar and hip pathologies will be discussed including labral tears and hip osteoarthritis amongst the young athlete to the aging athlete. Physical therapists will be able to experience an evaluation from Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine and Physical Therapists through the lecture and lab sessions. Furthermore, this multi-approach learning experience will provide information to assist with the development of systematic treatment plans including the latest evidence-based interventions and making appropriate referrals when necessary.
