Course Description:

Overview of the OPN Method, including questions, processes and level of participation, best practice skills, changes in treatment in the healthcare field, applying the NAGI Model, applying the OPN Method and challenges experienced. Compare the OPN method vs. psychological therapy and identifying that anyone can be a psychologist in their line of work. Identify and discuss how psychological therapy skills can assist healthcare provider when utilizing the OPN method in PT, OT, ST. Discuss in detail what is empathy and how it can positively impact the therapeutic relationship. Read case study and groups identify thoughts and feelings/psycho-social factors that can impact the resident’s care and how to work in care plan approaches to support the resident through their therapy sessions.
