Course Description:
Will address the importance of assessment and clinical reasoning/clinical problem solving in mentoring and and facilitating patient centered care in learners. This course will 1) identify critical components of assessment and clinical reasoning/clinical problem solving within a patient centered are framework, 2) explore the various models of clinical reasoning/clinical problem solving with strategies for making these thought processes transparent to teach and mentor patient centered care; and 3) discuss the contribution of learning styles to establishing a learning diagnosis to facilitate growth and development of patient centered c are. Strategies for managing time while still being an effective evaluator will be discussed along with accessing resources and benefits available through APTA/WPTA membership to enhance efficiency and clinical learning.
