Course Description:
The University of Kansas Health System Center for Concussion Management is returning in 2020 to present their patient-centered approach to the diagnosis and management of acute injury and post-concussion symptoms. Building on last year’s team-based care strategies, this one-day conference will highlight the critical nature of individualized care, taking into considerations all aspects of the patient’s health and wellbeing.
The conference will focus on the use of a multi-therapeutic approach and how this can lead to successful symptom resolution and improved patient outcomes. Specialists in the areas of neurology, physical, occupational, speech and vestibular therapies, mental health and neuropsychology, as well as nutrition and sleep will contribute to this integrated approach to patient care. Participants will have opportunities to explore therapies through hands-on simulations as well as case-based studies.
