This two day intermediate course for physical and occupational therapists will provide an array of options for lower extremity orthotics for the pediatric patient with neuro-motor and/or orthopedic impairment. The presentation will include common gait deviations in the pediatric population and a range of lower extremity bracing solutions available to improve outcomes in gross motor function. Through a combination of lecture, patient videos, live patient demos, lab assessment, handling sample orthotics, and group discussion, participants will improve their assessment, plan and treatment skills with their patients in the use of lower extremity orthotics. This course will help participants to simplify the complex decision making that takes place in selecting the best orthotic for their patients.
