Course Description:
This course will provide a gender inclusive overview of how pelvic floor function and dysfunction may influence the treatment and education of patient in an orthopedic population. Anatomy and pathology of the pelvic floor will be investigated as it relates to neuromuscular symptoms of the spine, pelvis, and extremities. Biomechanical principles and comprehensive treatment modifications will be discussed for maximum pelvic floor function, stability, and safety in exercises and functional activities. The clinician will learn how to incorporate the core and pelvic floor muscles into existing orthopedic treatment programs. There is no internal lab performed in this course.
