Course Description:

***This course requires successful completion of Pain Science, Movement, and Manual Therapy – Overview Course prior to participation
This course is a lab-intensive 1-day class based on the principles introduced in the Pain Science, Movement, and Manual Therapy (PSMMT) – Overview Course. This course provides regional case-based applications of the principles of PSMMT for the upper extremity. Integration of contemporary neuroscience, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, psychology, and social/environmental layers forms the cornerstone of the course. Open-ended discussions regarding the application of the Biopsychosocial Process-Based Movement with Pain Framework (MWPF) in the context of pain, movement, exercise, manual therapy, and the integration of the participants existing skill set will be emphasized. This course is predominantly hands-on and includes navigating movement, exercise, and manual therapy. Participants are expected to have reviewed their PSMMT manual prior to attendance. Regions of the upper extremity to be covered includes:
• Head and Face
• Neck
• Shoulder
• Elbow
• Wrist and Hand
