Participants will be able to:
1) Correctly identify key components and special needs related to a patient’s home setup and prior level of function when evaluating a bariatric patient.
2) Understand the differences between an evaluation of a bariatric patient versus a non-bariatric patient to encourage the highest level of independence for the patient while preserving the safety of both the patient and health care team.
3) Determine unique interventions that can be incorporated into therapy sessions with a bariatric patient.
4) Use resources provided to promote mobility and ADLs for patients during an inpatient hospital stay and with discharge home.
