Course Description:
Adhesive capsulitis, or frozen shoulder, occurs in 5% of the general population and up to 20% of individuals with diabetes. Therapy professionals are likely to encounter this condition in their practice and must understand their role in direct treatment and when to refer to other healthcare professionals. This module outlines the current understanding of the pathophysiology of adhesive capsulitis and recommendations for medical and rehabilitation treatment. Guidelines for each stage of adhesive capsulitis and evidence-based interventions are presented.
