Course Description:
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a common condition that can cause debilitating vertigo and contribute to increased fall risk and functional decline. This module outlines the symptoms of this condition and describes how to perform clinical tests and treatment maneuvers for each type of BPPV. Modifications of the common tests and treatment positions are presented to enable clinicians to apply these techniques for the majority of their patients. Current evidence-based recommendations for comprehensive care of individuals with BPPV are discussed.
