Course Description:
Physical and occupational therapy professionals who routinely work with the older adult population have an opportunity to affect lives unlike almost any other domain of rehab. Not only does rehab often tip the balance from dependence to independence for this population, but small efforts can produce disproportionately large results. This course presents effective, evidence-based techniques for you to help your patients achieve their full potential during their rehabilitation experience. Clinicians will also receive practical suggestions for incorporating function-based training into the day-to-day treatments of older adults. The different levels of function and how they play a role in the selection of exercises for patients will be addressed.
