Course Description:

Geriatric syndromes are clinical conditions that result from disease or impairments that affect multiple systems.
Recognizing geriatric syndromes is critical to providing the best possible care. Common geriatric syndromes
include frailty, incontinence, falls, dementia, malnutrition, and delirium. This module provides therapy
professionals with an understanding of geriatric syndromes, including the mechanisms and shared risk factors
that contribute to development. Learners will understand their role in assessing and treating people with geriatric
syndrome, including prioritizing needs and addressing underlying impairments.
