Course Description:
Executive function skills require a combination of focus, working memory, and regulation and monitoring of actions. Individuals with executive function impairments can present with difficulty analyzing, planning, organizing, and executing tasks. Impairments can occur as part of normal aging and as a result of neurological and behavioral disorders. This module provides a practical application of the impact of executive function deficits on clinical presentation. Rehabilitation clinicians will gain an understanding of how to develop appropriate goals and interventions when working with patients with impaired executive functioning.
