Course Description:
Cardiac Disease & the Rehab Therapist is a course for physical therapists and assistants in acute or subacute care seeking to update their understanding of cardiac conditions. This course addresses cardiac disease and physical therapy rehab. Unit I is an overview of various cardiac conditions that PT practitioners are most likely to see in their practice. Included in this course are heart failure, valve dysfunction, arrhythmias, acute coronary syndrome and more. Unit II looks at issues related to PT assessment, treatment, precautions and discharge planning for patients with these diagnoses.
