Course Description:
This course is designed for physical and occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals, working with patients suffering from balance disorders, falls, movement disorders, or dizziness/vertigo. This training covers the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, oculomotor and somatosensory systems, current medical assessments and treatments, and the impact of dizziness and balance problems on the quality of life of older adults. After this training clinicians will have the tools to assess and treat many disorders producing dizziness or balance impairment in their practice settings. The clinician will gain a thorough understanding of various categories of vestibular disorders in order to provide effective and evidence-based treatment.
