Course Description:

It is not unusual for physical therapists to rely heavily on their clinical judgments and expertise in the clinic. In order to demonstrate patient progress to third party payers, though, there must be objective proof of progress. The use of evidenced-based and reliable standardized testing will help you show the improvement your patient is making. This course will explore why standardized tests are an important part of the treatment of older adults, how to choose an appropriate test for your patient, and how to document its use in your treatment notes, as well as explore a few tests that have been proven to be reliable for older adults.
