Course Description:
The expansion of palliative care over the past decade has led to increased utilization of therapy services for patients with life-limiting illness. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy can play an important role in managing symptoms, improving quality of life, and maximizing functional abilities. In addition, therapy professionals should be able to anticipate and address future needs and provide caregiver training. The therapist role, treatment considerations, and discharge planning for this population will be discussed.
