Course Description:

Telehealth is an alternative service delivery model that pediatric occupational therapists and pediatric physical therapists can use for implementing therapeutic interventions. Research supports the efficacy of telehealth in pediatric OT and PT populations. This form of providing pediatric therapy services comes with a unique set of challenges. Therapists new to this delivery model need to be equipped with practical information on how to conduct evaluations and effectively implement therapeutic interventions. In this presentation, pediatric therapists will learn online techniques to evaluate clinical observations, motor skills, sensory processing, and occupational performance. Therapists will develop a ready-to-implement list of teletherapy activities using everyday common objects that they can put to practice immediately. This presentation is applicable for occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech language pathologists who work in pediatric settings.
