Course Description:
Course will review the various stages of the gait cycle and the design relevance of the major orthotic components and impact of microprocessor KAFO technology on control during gait. The participants will gain review the gait cycle and discuss the relevance of yielding resistance to emulate eccentric muscle lengthening at various stages in relation to orthotic function. Adjustment of dynamic features of microprocessor control will be showed to optimize function and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Overall attendees will learn the main factors and selection criteria for successful patients as well as trial/evaluation practices, clinical adjustment, and control optimization.
