Course Description:

Purpose of Course:

This Deming Leadership Course will benefit the clinician/therapy manager in the following ways in their day to day responsibilities:
•   Provide techniques for effective patient / family centered communication / goal setting
•   Provide communication techniques to facilitate best practice patterns with all rehab and other professional staff
•   Provide leadership skills to model professional behavior in the practice of physical therapy
•   Provide rehab managers in the rehabilitation industry with techniques to guide their staff toward the best professional practices
•   Enhance communication skills for participating in patient care case conferences
•   Facilitate professional patient focused conferencing with MDs and other health care providers
•   Enhance the rehab leaders ability to give effective feedback to their staff and thus improve patient outcomes and employee satisfaction / retention
•   Take judgment and communication from a personal to a professional level
•   Provide methods for research utilizing objective / standardized measures and tools
•   Improve the effective management of staff therapists through evidence based communication and improvement methods
