Course Description:
Podcast: It is tempting to treat all people with Parkinson's disease (PD) with the singular approach that you learned in school or in a continuing education course. However, not all people with PD need power, large excursion movement, speed, changes in direction, distraction tolerance, or retraining their sense of vertical. Do you know who needs what? What motor and non-motor features are common for people with tremor, or with people who experience freezing of gait? In this course, we differentiate between the main subtypes or phenotypes of Parkinson’s disease. We tie advances in our understanding of PD to examinations, interventions, education, and prognosis. Attendees should expect to walk away feeling more informed about the expected differences in the subtypes of PD, giving them the best opportunity to set goals, intervene, educate patients and caregivers alike, and slow the disease progression where possible.
Course Dates To Be Offered:
