Cardiac Rhythms and What They Mean to Me

Course Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
• Understand the basics of normal cardiac conduction
• Detect abnormal heart rhythms based on telemetry and ECG findings
• Differentiate between lethal and nonlethal dysrhythmia
• Understand the effect of heart rhythms on cardiac output and a patient’s ability to participate in physical activity
• Recognize abnormal rhythms that are at risk for converting to more lethal rhythms with physical activity
• Identify cardiac rhythms that require urgent attention
