Course Description:
Maintenance therapy is skilled therapy services intended tomaintain function or to prevent or slow decline, and it is acovered service for Medicare beneficiaries. Yet, many cliniciansare unsure of which patients are most appropriate formaintenance therapy upon evaluation, or uncertain of when it ismost appropriate for a person to be transitioned to amaintenance therapy program. This course providesrehabilitation therapists with guidelines on how to incorporatemaintenance therapy into their practice and considerations fordocumentation, including how to write goals and support theneed for skilled care.
The goal of this course is to provide physical and occupationaltherapy professionals and speech-language pathologists with anunderstanding of the guidelines for delivering maintenancetherapy.
