Course Description:
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive neurological condition that can lead to debilitating mobility and balance impairments. Physical therapy professionals must be aware of current treatment strategies to integrate these concepts into their interventions. Medication advancements, deep brain stimulation, virtual reality, treadmill training, and current evidence for assistive devices are discussed. This course targets the advanced learner who has an understanding of the basic pathophysiology of PD and is confident in applying that understanding into their evaluation and treatment plans.
