Course Description:
Children with neuromuscular conditions often rely on adaptive equipment to enhance independence and function and prevent progression of secondary impairments. Standing frames or "standers" are often recommended for children who are nonambulatory or present with limited ability to independently stand. Physical and occupational therapy professionals must understand the available devices and the principles, indications, contraindications, and precautions for standing when working with or making recommendations for these devices.
