Course Description:
This course consists of 5 modules which acquaint the rehab therapist with key terms and principles in pharmacology. This course teaches the rehab clinician’s role in medication management and monitoring, familiarizes the rehab professional with key components of pharmacokinetics and how exercise affects drug absorption, informs the rehab clinician how therapy treatment timing may need adjusting or monitoring due to pharmacodynamics, and increases the rehab professional’s understanding of types of drug related problems associated with medication use, such as how to distinguish between adverse drug reactions, hypersensitivity, drug abuse and drug toxicity. This is a must course for any rehab therapist working in today’s health care environment.
