Mod 1: This course is based on 16 chapters from Vestibular Rehabilitation, Fourth Edition by Susan J. Herdman and Richard A. Clendaniel. The authors are recognized as two of the world’s leading authorities on the subject, and the book has been called “the field’s definitive text on the management of vestibular diseases and disorders.” These chapters present a thorough discussion of the anatomy, physiology, and function of the vestibular system; important aspects of abnormalities, dysfunction, and recovery; and assessment, testing, and medical intervention for vestibular disorders and other factors causing dizziness.(20 hrs)
Mod 2: This course is based on 11 chapters from Vestibular Rehabilitation, Fourth Edition, by Susan J. Herdman and Richard A. Clendaniel. These chapters present a thorough discussion of therapeutic assessment of disorders of the peripheral vestibular system, provide detailed explanations of appropriate rehab for patients with vestibular hypofunction or non-vestibular dizziness, and deliver a wealth of assessment tools, exercises, and resources that will be immediately helpful in the clinic. Vestibular management of clients with BPPV, vestibular hypofunction, post head trauma, cervicogenic dizziness, non-vestibular dizziness and more as well as the role of emerging technologies such as virtual reality, sensory substitution devices, and vestibular implants are included in this evidence based and updated course.
