Course Description:
Parkinson's disease is not the same as Parkinsonism, from the cellular mechanism and
pathophysiology to the presentation, prognosis, and treatment. This course will clarify the main
clinical subtypes of Parkinsonisms, including vascular and inherited, as well as multiple systems
atrophies, corticobasal ganglionic degeneration (CBGD), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP),
and a differential with Huntington’s disease. Viewers should expect comprehensive coverage of
these topics. If you are PT or OT, you will learn the basics of differentiation, treatment, and
treatment timing, as well as what to expect based on the evidence presented in this course.
