Course Description:

The FMT Movement Specialist Course will introduce novel movement assessment and rehabilitation/performance enhancement strategies that are built around consideration of the whole person’s movement neurologically, psychologically, and mechanically. This course will introduce a new paradigm for enhancing human movement using three “Movement Pillar’ Assessments/Corrections. Brain (neurological/psychological systems), Midline (Fascial/Planar Systems) and Mechanical Assessments/Corrections will performed to improve common movement patterns. The FMT Movement Assessment Systems will be used to determine if the movement dysfunction is primarily a mechanical or neurological deficit and provide the appropriate corrective strategies to address the issue.

The primary goal of this course is to help health and fitness professionals learn safe, simple, and effective tactics to assess ‘conscious’ movement. Attendees will learn multiple assessments along with interventional strategies of the fundamental patterns of human movement (ie. squatting). A variety of interventional tools (mobility balls, exercise bands, foam rollers, compression flossing bands, agility and conditioning equipment) will be used to tackle an evidence-informed, brain-based, joint-by-joint approach to movement and functional rehabilitation/performance programming. The use of digital motion analysis technology will be presented to demonstrate how health and fitness professionals can be more objective when assessing human movement.

The primary goal of this course is to help health and fitness professionals learn safe, simple, and effective tactics to screen movement. The secondary goal of this course is for attendees to learn multiple intervention strategies alongside movement assessment to help enhance human movement.

This course is intended for health and fitness professionals with all levels of experience with rehabilitation programming and taping.

Functional Movement Training (FMT) courses are led by industry leading experts in movement assessment and therapy.
