Course Description:
Interactive webinar on implicit bias including the science, how personal bias can impact behavior, and how implicit bias can affect patient outcomes. Learn how implicit bias may show up in the clinical learning environment including microaggressions and bias in in performance evaluation of minority and marginalized students. Discussion on the process to develop an orientation, strategies to empower student growth, mentorship, and supports to create a positive learning environment for all physical therapy students. This course meets the State of Michigan Implicit Bias Training Requirement. Proceeds from this course supports the APTA MI Clinical Education Consortium's Educational Leadership Conference Scholarships and the Clinical Education Research Grant.
