Course Description:
After an acute COVID-19 illness, many people experience continued symptoms that impact their ability to return to their usual state of health and function. As rehabilitation providers, you will likely see patients who present with a range of persistent symptoms, from isolated loss of sense of smell to respiratory impairments requiring continued use of supplemental oxygen, related to their previous COVID infection. In this podcast, we talk with Dr. John Baratta, Founder and Co-director of the University of North Carolina COVID Recovery Clinic, about what we know about post-COVID conditions, also known as long COVID or PASC (post-acute sequelae of SARS CoV-2). We discuss the range of clinical presentations of long COVID and considerations for rehabilitation treatment, with a focus on fatigue as a common symptom these individuals experience.
