Course Description:
Guillain Barré syndrome is an immune-mediated inflammatory peripheral neuropathy that is characterized by acute progressive motor weakness and areflexia. Participants of this presentation will be able to explain the relationship between neuropathic pain and function in children. They will be able to discuss the impact of neuropathic pain on progress and prognosis in children and the typical course of recovery. Additionally, they will be able to Identify how a PT plan of care for a child with a rare diagnosis is designed within the context of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model.
