Course Description:
The target population is all Great Lakes Region Hemophilia Treatment Centers staff. Staff includes but not limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, physical therapists, dental hygienists, data coordinators, pharmacists, genetic counsellors and administrative staff. Catchment area is Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
The overall conference objectives are:
• Discuss the importance of creating dialogue with patients with a bleeding disorder to help address other medical issues including aging.
• Utilize communication techniques when discussing options related to advance directives and medical advancements to patients with bleeding disorders.
• Describe coping strategies for stressors surrounding the pandemic and for health equity case-based scenarios.
Separate discipline-specific break out sessions are provided to discuss evidenced based issues and discussions. CEUs are being applied for physical therapists, nurses, dental hygienists and social workers.
