Course Description:

When the core is delayed or not recruited, what is the outcome for trunk stability and posture? How do the trunk muscles perform when the core is in dysfunction? Then again what is the core? Discover the dual stability system of the body and how it will ultimately affect trunk control and the ability to stand up against gravity. Understand the function of the diaphragm and what happens to this vital muscle when it is not performing adequately. Study various posture patterns that the body undertakes in dysfunction. This seminar is heavily evidence based on the latest studies of the trunk, core, global muscle group and the intimate association of the respiratory system.
Learn the function of the pelvic floor in core stability and how dysfunction of this vital region is overlooked and often ignored by clinicians and the medical society. Gain knowledge of useful techniques and devices for our patients who are collapsing. What are the latest studies on why athletes experience leg fatigue in endurance activities and how as a Therapist you can change that?
This seminar will expand upon the functional knowledge of the respiratory system and how it integrates with the thorax, abdominal canister and learn the intimate details of the dual systems which will enable the student to connect and integrate the stability systems of the body. Foundation, Form and Function: Dysfunction of Trunk Stability will answer the clinicians questions on the process behind why patients take the postures that are dysfunctional and painful.
