Course Description:
This continuing education course provides physical therapy professionals with up-to-date, evidenced-based information to understand and successfully manage patients who have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. The course includes discussions of applied anatomy, basic pathophysiology of distal median nerve compression, risk factors and contributing causes, demographics, and some of the most commonly occurring complications and co-morbidities. It provides an in-depth discussion of therapy evaluation and conservative treatment options for carpal tunnel syndrome, based on current literature findings. It also covers surgical intervention and rehabilitation after surgery. This course will be immediately useful in clinical practice for PTs, and PTAs, ranging from general therapists to hand therapy specialists.
