Course Description:

This comprehensive online course teaches a systemic approach to solving difficult injuries with the spine and extremities.

Participants will learn to recognize and test patterns of movement and biomechanical dysfunction as they relate to difficult or chronic pain conditions. Participants will also learn how to solve these injuries by correcting patterns of movement and biomechanical dysfunction via corrective exercise, unique taping techniques and correction of movement impairments.

Materials will include Rick Olderman, MSPT's six books (Fixing You®: Back & Sciatic Pain, Fixing You®: Neck Pain & Headaches, Fixing You®: Hip & Knee Pain, Fixing You®: Foot & Ankle Pain, Fixing You®: Shoulder & Elbow Pain, Fixing You®: Back Pain During Pregnancy), videos explaining patterns of dysfunction causing most pain, 2 systems-based evaluation screens, 8 Case Studies and their presentations to patients , Corrective Exercise Treatment Grid, Video and pdf of corrective exercises, Neurophysiology of Hanna Somatics handout, 8 Somatics audio lessons, 2 Somatics/biomechanics videos for low back pain, 2 Somatics/biomechanics videos for neck pain & headaches, Systems-based taping techniques for foot, knee and shoulders, gait training and other topics, All materials for this portion of the Fixing You® Method certification will be delivered and learned online.

The online course is structured to provide participants with the opportunity to gain a thorough body on knowledge surrounding orthopedic and sports injuries and chronic pain or difficult cases. This will be achieved through a deeper understanding of how various biomechanical and behavioral systems work together to both create and solve difficult or chronic pain. This course does not teach specific orthopedic tests to determine structural problems such as tissue tears or disc herniations.
