Course Description:
Welcome to this course on Clinical Treatment Planning and Documentation for Physical Therapy. Physical therapy professionals work in many settings; some of these settings have very specific documentation standards, others may not. Documentation is the written evidence of someone’s activities, decisions, actions, observations, and other official information about their daily interactions with patients. Documentation should be evidence-based, which helps it to be more clinically defensible. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) offers documentation guidelines that can be used in a wide range of therapy settings. This course discusses APTA documentation recommendations for physical therapy professionals working in clinical settings.
Please note: This continuing education/professional development activity was planned for physical therapists. Completing this course does not authorize you to add any skill discussed in the content to your practice if this function is not included in your current scope of practice.
