Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to introduce the vestibular clinician and researcher to the emerging concept of remote telehealth for vestibular rehabilitation and the use of digital tools that may enhance outcomes. This course will cover limitations of current clinic-based practice and how they can be addressed with digital health tools, the user-centered iterative design process for developing a gamified gaze stability exercise program, validation procedures, challenges associated with the development of digital health tools for vestibular rehabilitation, feasibility and efficacy study design and preliminary pilot study outcomes. This course is directly related to the practice of physical therapy and is therefore appropriate for the PT/PTA.
