Course Description:
This course is designed to give participants a broad understanding of the major neurocognitive disorder and the secondary behaviors that are common to it. Often, these secondary behaviors are what lead to caregiver burden and premature placement in a facility, and it is hoped that educating care providers on strategies for management may allow persons with dementia to live successfully at home for longer. Through this course, participants will learn about the common secondary behaviors, their causes, and their management strategies, and participants will be given a structured approach to developing intervention plans to address these types of concerns.
