Course Description:
Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) are developed to assist physical therapists in their clinical decision-making based on the highest level of available evidence. Applying CPGs to your practice will help you to provide high-quality patient care and decrease unwanted practice variation. The Heart Failure CPG is applicable to physical therapists across the continuum of care as the prevalence of heart failure is high and is rapidly increasing. This course will integrate heart failure pathophysiology with the key action statements from the 2020 Physical Therapist Management of Heart Failure Clinical Practice Guideline. New research findings and insights will be presented, especially as they relate to heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, high-intensity interval training, and inspiratory muscle training.
