Course Description:
While motor control is the focus of interventions in various settings of rehabilitation, it is often neglected in the rehabilitation of athletes. The body’s intrinsic protective mechanisms rely heavily on the coordination and coupling of the osteo- and arthrokinematic movement via external and internal forces. The rotational athlete poses unique demands the clinician must navigate to maximize the effectiveness of rehabilitation. Therapeutic exercise is of the most value when they are specific to the demands of the sport and train athletes to better control and restrain movement.
