Course Description:
Today’s aging and active population requires that rehabilitation professionals’ practice at the highest level of their license! This continuing education course will dive deep into topics such as a RAPIDLY increasing Geriatric condition called Adult Scoliosis. It has been noted that 60% of adults over 60 have scoliosis. The attendee will learn and discuss the multitude of effects Adult Scoliosis has on human body. The attendee will learn creative therapeutic exercise techniques and how to sequence a corrective exercise program. In addition to Geriatric Scoliosis the other rapidly growing population is our aging adults fall risk ! This course will provide the most recent evidence on the implications of the hip and core stability to reduce falls and address orthopedic balance issues in our aging adults. The last section covered will be lab based and the attendee will learn and perform advanced manual therapy extremity techniques and corrective exercises that can be used the very next day in the home health, rehab or outpatient clinic with patients who have common orthopedic conditions
