Course Description:
This course will discuss advanced application of the foundational principles outlining the current research, and the more local to regional applications for exercises targeting the hip, pelvis and lower extremity. This course has been designed to target both the sports/orthopedic clinician and the pelvic health practitioner. The content is an intentional blend of information that covers rehabilitation strategies for topics including stress urinary incontinence and pelvic floor pain related to athletes, to common orthopedic lower quarter conditions including lumbopelvic-hip pain, hip impingement, ACL injury, patellofemoral pain, and foot-ankle pathologies.
This course will discuss an advancement in both exercise performance, but also the associated clinical reasoning when managing these pathologies. High quality videos will be utilized to demonstrate each of the exercises captured in real time and with the use of slow motion capture. These videos will give clinicians an opportunity to perceive human movement through a unique lens of global complexity in a simplified approach.
Lastly, this course is geared towards adding to the general sports and orthopedic clinician’s understanding of the pelvic floor, and will also challenge the advanced pelvic health therapist to expand their exercise selection to integrate three-dimensional movements. A primary goal of this course will be the regression and progression of various exercises, and the clinical reasoning for when to prescribe the most appropriate exercise to a specific patient population.
