Course Description:

The Highbar Dry Needling level 1 course is an entry level course that provides participants with basic knowledge of dry needling practice for musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. This course is offered to student physical therapists (SPTs), graduate physical therapists (GPTs), and practicing doctors of physical therapy (DPT). Participants are educated on theory, safe needle technique, contraindications, and precautions to dry needling, proper needle handling, billing guidelines, and appropriate implementation of needling for specific populations and diagnoses. Our course goal is for participants is to gain independence and knowledge in applying dry needling to patients in the clinical setting. Upon course completion participants will have the tools to safely apply dry needling to superficial muscle groups throughout all regions of the body. A 6 to 1 participant to instructor ratio ensures continuous monitoring and immediate feedback during practice.
