Course Description:
This comprehensive course provides healthcare professionals with a solid foundation in understanding dementia and equips them with practical strategies to enhance care and support for individuals with dementia. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the types of dementia, its impact on cognitive function and behavior, and the challenges faced by individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. The course explores communication techniques and occupational-based strategies that promote engagement, independence, and quality of life for individuals with dementia. Participants will learn how to adapt and modify activities across different domains of occupation, including self-care, productivity, and leisure, to meet the unique needs and abilities of individuals with dementia.
