Course Description:

Can you see yourself at 90 years of age? 100? What does that look like to you? How do
you think healthcare practitioners will treat you? In an ideal world, it is with compassion,
dignity, and best practices. Unfortunately, this may not be the case in healthcare today.
In this course, you will learn about ageism. We will discuss what ageism is and the
effects ageism has on patients. Case studies will emphasize the pervasiveness of
ageism. You will also learn evidence-based approaches to prevent ageism in your
healthcare setting. This course is applicable to any practitioner that interacts with older
adults.
