Course Description:
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a common condition that can cause debilitating vertigo and contribute to increased fall risk and functional decline. This module outlines the symptoms of this condition and demonstrates how to perform clinical tests and treatment maneuvers for each type of BPPV. Modifications of the common tests and treatment positions are presented to enable clinicians to apply these techniques to the majority of their patients. Evidence-based recommendations for comprehensive care of individuals with BPPV are discussed.
The goal of this course is to provide physical therapy and occupational therapy professionals with an understanding of clinical assessment and treatment options for patients with BPPV.
