Course Description:
Individuals with a diagnosis of HIV are aging with other chronic conditions and comorbidities. Across all clinical settings and in populations of every age, physical, occupational, and speech therapists will evaluate and treat patients with HIV as a comorbidity. Therefore, it is important to understand the impact of HIV on a patient's clinical presentation, goal setting, expected progression, and plan of care. This course will provide learners with an overview of how HIV affects the musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary systems and the interaction of HIV with common comorbidities.
