Course Description:
This course provides physical therapy professionals with a review of common impairments of the hip and knee and contributing factors for each, including biomechanics, overuse, and lifestyle. Typical clinical presentations are discussed along with case studies to describe a step-by-step evaluation, modeling clinical decision making for a common hip condition in a recreational athlete and a common knee condition in a middle-aged, sedentary individual. Current evidence-based research regarding the impact of biomechanics on symptomatology and appropriate selection and interpretation of special tests are presented.
