Course Description:
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurological condition that contributes to significant mobility, cognitive, and communication challenges in almost a million people in the U.S. PD is the most common form of parkinsonisms, which is a collection of diseases and impairments that result in symptoms such as bradykinesia, rigidity, and postural instability. This foundational course will provide rehabilitation therapy professionals with an understanding of the pathophysiology of PD and parkinsonisms, common symptoms, progression, and treatments.
